The Mis-execution of a black son

Black bodies. Black skin. Black men. Black lives.

Carl Patterson is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oklahoma. Additionally, he is a spoken word artist, published author, TedX presenter, and a dedicated ally to the 2SLGBTQ+ community. He ardently utilizes his poetry as a powerful tool in his clinical practice to process trauma and confront oppressive injustices. Carl’s writing offers a collection of his personal experiences altering between pain and justice. His creative vulnerability serves as a catalyst for healing in Black and Brown spaces.

The Space program

Education's Premier Hip Hop Movement

I collaborate and consult with professionals representing marginalized communities and provide consultation and training services to local colleges.A recent collaboration resulted in a partnership with The Space Program (TSP) and two local universities. TSP is a hip-hop collective that creates safe spaces by integrating hip-hop and poetry into American higher education. Members of TSP cultivated a safe space for students to engage in meaningful conversations related to mental health, campus challenges, relationships, and more. To host TSP at your school or organization, please visit their website for more information.
